How does Restylane work?

Restylane is made of hyaluronic acid, which is naturally present in the body. When it breaks down and is absorbed into your body, the filler turns into water and carbon dioxide and disappears without leaving a trace.

Restylane is injected with a small needle under the skin. A treatment with a dermal filler like restylane can cause some temporary swelling and numbness for a few days. Other side effects are rare.
