Meet Dr. David Kang

Dr. David Kang, elder brother of Dr. Lisa Kang, is a board-certified general surgeon and co-owner and operator of Serenity MedSpa.

He was born in South Korea and immigrated to the Bay Area with his family at age 13. He attended the University of California, Berkeley, where he earned a degree in Biophysics. He obtained his M.D. degree at the University of St. Louis School of Medicine and completed his general surgery residency at the University of California Davis-East Bay Program (now called University of California San Francisco-East Bay Program). Later, he expanded his surgical skills to include noninvasive and minimally invasive cosmetic laser surgeries and cosmetic dermatologic procedures and is now fully focused on the procedures offered at Serenity MedSpa.

Dr. David Kang is especially skilled when it comes to minimally invasive and noninvasive body contouring treatments. He blends his highly trained surgical skills and his eye for aesthetics to deliver remarkable results, especially when it comes to Smartlipo Laser Liposuction. He has offered Smartlipo Laser Liposuction to his clients since it was introduced in 2006 and is one of the most experienced and highly regarded laser liposuction surgeons in the nation. He currently uses the latest version of Smartlipo, the Triplex system, delivering even better body contouring and skin-tightening results than ever before. His meticulous attention to detail combined with his advanced surgical abilities provides his patients with excellent results.   

Dr. David Kang is also one of the very first surgeons in the nation to be approved by the Cynosure company to perform the ground-breaking cellulite treatment, the Cellulaze.  Due to his extensive Smartlipo experience, he is able to deliver excellent results with the Cellulaze procedure.

Furthermore, he oversees Serenity MedSpa’s effective HCG weight-loss program, which has helped hundreds of clients safely lose weight and keep it off. He personally meets with each of his clients to determine the best combination of treatments to help achieve their individual goals.
